Online AP and college prep courses developed by UC College Prep Online (UCCP) will be instructed in California by UC Irvine Extension (UCIX) beginning in fall 2008, according to an agreement between the two organizations. UC Irvine Extension will offer the following online courses for college-bound high school students beginning in September 2008: Algebra I and II The courses will be taught statewide by qualified online teachers via UCIX’s web interface, which uses the Moodle course management system. UC Irvine Extension is coordinating closely with California high schools to offer needed AP and Honors courses for students who lack access to instructed college prep courses. For more information or to enroll, please visit the UC Irvine Extension web site: Enter UC Irvine/College Prep As UCCP develops new courses, partner organizations like UC Irvine Extension will instruct them for credit. UCCP is exploring new partners to instruct courses in order to give California students and educators multiple options for use of UC’s approved college prep courses and content. UCCP courses are already available for teachers, schools and school districts to use for the purpose of instruction and complementary resources either through UCCP’s open access web site or through free course licensing.
